Calvary Center for Culture and Community

Calvary Center for Culture and Community is a separate 501(c)3 nonprofit organization created by Calvary United Methodist Church to help preserve and rejuvenate its historic building, which is both a neighborhood landmark and one of the region's finest and best-preserved Victorian churches.

The building is a central meeting place for many different groups and organizations in West Philadelphia, including:

three other Christian congregations (Grace Chapel Church of God in Christ, Thompson's Temple of Faith,
West Philadelphia Mennonite Fellowship)
Kol Tzedek (West Philadelphia Synagogue)
Cedar Park Neighbors
Curio Theatre Company
International Action Center
Prometheus Radio Project
University City Historical Society

In addition, Calvary plays host to a variety of other programs and activities, including AA, NA and MA (Marijuana Anonymous) meetings, Ju Jutsi (karate) classes, community forums, concerts and other events.
