Directions
Calvary is located at the corner of 48th Street and Baltimore Avenue in Southwest Philadelphia
(801 South 48th Street officially, in the Cedar Park neighborhood). Basic directions are provided below. If you have further questions about how to get to the church, please contact the church office at 215-724-1702 or calvarymethodist@juno.com, or consult MapQuest.
Parking
Free on-street parking is available on all of the streets surrounding the church. There is also a free city parking lot that is accessible from either Baltimore or Warrington Avenues (Warrington is located one block south of the church), between 47th and 48th Streets.
Driving
From Downtown/Center City, travel West on Walnut or Spruce Streets. Turn left onto 48th Street and continue until you get to Baltimore Avenue. The church is on the corner, on your left.
From I-76 East, take the University Avenue exit (exit 346B) toward Grays Ferry; continue straight onto University Avenue. When University Avenue turns into 38th Street (VA Hospital will be on your left), turn left at the light towards Woodland Avenue/Baltimore Avenue/US 13 South, making sure to bear right after you turn to follow signs for Baltimore Avenue (not Woodland Avenue). Continue along Baltimore Avenue about 9 blocks until you get to 48th Street, then turn left. The church is on the corner.
From I-76 West, take the University Avenue exit (exit 346B). Continue straight through several lights. Once you cross Grays Ferry Avenue, continue straight until you reach University Avenue. Turn left (it's the only way you can go) onto University Avenue and then follow directions for I-76 East above (where University turns into 38th Street).
Public Transportation (SEPTA)
The #34 trolley loops from Center City (including stops at 30th Street and City Hall/15th Street) to 61st Street on Baltimore Avenue and stops directly in front of the church at 48th Street. Aternatively, take the #13 SEPTA trolley along Chester Avenue to 48th Street, and then walk four blocks north to the church.
The #64 bus loops from North to South of Baltimore Avenue on 48th Street and stops directly in front of the church.
